Taiwan Employment-Seeking Visa in 2026

Taiwan's Employment-Seeking Visa is designed for foreign professionals who need time in Taiwan to look for professional work.

Current eligibility

Applicants can qualify through one of the current bases:

  • employment experience with average monthly salary/remuneration over the previous six months of at least NT$47,971;
  • graduation within the previous year from a Ministry of Education-listed top 1,500 university, without yet having employment experience; or
  • another case accepted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after consultation with the competent authority.

BOCA also requires proof of financial resources of at least NT$100,000, health/hospitalization insurance, good-conduct documentation, and a job-seeking plan.

Visa duration

The Employment-Seeking Visa is multiple-entry, valid for 3 months, and can support a total stay of up to 6 months.

It does not itself authorize ordinary employment. Once a job is secured, the person must move onto the appropriate work/residence basis.
