Investor Residence in the Caribbean Netherlands
IND-CN's current fixed-term application materials include investor as a distinct residence purpose.
The route should not be described as a citizenship-by-investment programme or an automatic permanent-residence “golden visa.” It is a purpose-specific residence application with its own financial evidence and temporary-residence conditions.
Current investment evidence
The current official fixed-term application form available through RCN asks an investor to provide:
- a valid passport;
- legalized civil-status documents where applicable;
- bank references from two banks, one of which must be from the country of origin;
- a declaration from a local bank in the public entity where the person will stay;
- evidence in that local-bank declaration that the applicant intends and has the resources to make a commercial investment and/or purchase real estate;
- a total value of at least USD 365,000;
- realisation of that intention within 18 months;
- a business plan; and
- a legalized recent certificate of good conduct.
Because this threshold comes from the official application form, it is more reliable than commercial “golden visa” marketing claims.
Temporary-purpose status
RCN's immigration forms include an acknowledgement of temporary residence right specifically for study, investor and volunteer applicants.
That is a strong reason not to market investor residence as a guaranteed path to permanent settlement. Applicants should verify how their particular residence history is treated before assuming the general five-year permanent-residence rule will count the investor period in full.
2026 fees
The official fee schedule lists:
- investor MVV: $922;
- first fixed-term investor permit without MVV: $922;
- investor extension: $391;
- change of restriction to investor: $922.
Is property purchase by itself enough?
No. The current form does not say “buy any property and receive residence.” It requires a local-bank declaration, a minimum total value, intent/resources, and a business plan, among other evidence.
Real-estate purchase can be part of the investor evidence, but immigration approval remains discretionary under the applicable law and application conditions.
No citizenship by investment
Dutch nationality follows the Kingdom's nationality law and IND naturalisation/option procedures. The investor category does not create a citizenship-by-investment programme and does not replace residence-duration, qualifying-status or integration requirements.
Business operator versus investor
If the applicant is actively running a local company or working as a director/sole proprietor, compare the self-employment/business residence route. The best legal category depends on the actual activity and evidence, not on the marketing label chosen by an adviser.
