Curaçao remote-worker / digital-nomad short stay — January 2025 snapshot
Curaçao's Admission Office publishes a short-stay residence purpose for remote workers / digital nomads. It is designed for someone who comes for a maximum of six months while an employer based abroad allows that person to work remotely.
Core requirements
The official guidance requires payment of the applicable fees, a valid passport, and proof of means. Proof can include a recent assignment declaration for an applicant with an own company in the country of origin, or a recent employer declaration / certified employment contract from the foreign employer.
Dependent family members need separate short-stay applications supported by evidence of the family relationship.
What this route does not do
This category is not the normal route for taking employment with a Curaçao-based employer. Local employment is governed separately by the foreign-worker employment-permit framework.
The route can fit a remote employee and, where the official proof rule is satisfied, a person carrying out assignments through an own company abroad. It should not be stretched into a general local freelance work permit.
See the Curaçao hub, employee route, Caribbean region, work visas, methodology, and legal disclaimer.
