Ecuador's Visa de visitante temporal por actos de comercio y otras actividades is a short-stay visitor category for acts of commerce, business and specified administrative, cultural and other activities.

Permitted purpose and duration

The official procedure covers short stays to carry out acts of commerce and related authorized activity and states a stay of up to 180 days with multiple entries. The statutory description also covers entering Ecuador to carry out commerce/business and establish contacts with companies or individuals.

Supporting evidence can include a sponsorship/invitation from an Ecuador-domiciled person or entity and other proof of the planned activity. General requirements include a valid passport, criminal-record evidence, lawful means and fees.

Not a substitute for residence or local work authorization

This is a visitor category. It is useful to founders for negotiations, commercial contacts and permitted short-term business activity, but it should not be treated as a substitute for residence for ongoing local work.
