Investor Occupation Permit in Mauritius in 2026

The Investor Occupation Permit is part of Mauritius's combined work-and-residence framework for non-citizens carrying on investment activity in Mauritius.

Current 2026 entry benchmark

The Economic Development Board's August 2026 update states that a new Investor Occupation Permit applicant requires a minimum initial investment of USD 100,000. The same update publishes MUR 5 million annual turnover from year 3 and MUR 8 million from year 5 for renewal.

Important distinction

The permit is not created simply by incorporating a Mauritian company. Immigration and EDB criteria, company registration, sector licensing, tax and employment obligations are separate layers.

Mauritius also maintains an innovative-start-up pathway within the investor framework. Its evidence and performance conditions should be checked separately from the ordinary investor route.
