Employment Residence and Work Permit in Montenegro in 2026
Montenegro's ordinary temporary residence and work permit for employment is tied to a specific employer and job.
The permit is issued for up to 1 year. Under the current 2026 law it may be extended for up to 2 years where the foreigner has a full-time employment contract.
The 2026 annual work-permit quota also remains part of the system. Do not treat a D visa, company registration, or a job offer as a substitute for the residence-and-work permit itself.
