Saint Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment
Saint Kitts and Nevis has operated a citizenship programme since 1984. It is a citizenship route rather than a temporary investor-residence permit.
Current investment options
The official Citizenship Unit publishes four main routes:
- Sustainable Island State Contribution (SISC) — currently a minimum US$250,000 contribution.
- Developer's Real Estate Investment — currently a minimum US$325,000 in an Approved Development.
- Approved Private Home — a qualifying private-home investment under the official programme rules.
- Public Benefit Option — investment in an Approved Public Benefit Project.
Current thresholds and government fees can change, so applicants should confirm the live official schedule immediately before committing funds.
Eligibility and due diligence
The main applicant must be at least 18, make or agree to make the prescribed qualifying investment, and satisfy the programme's due-diligence and financial requirements.
The Citizenship Unit also publishes nationality-based restrictions that should be checked before an application is started.
Authorised Agent requirement
Applications cannot be submitted directly to the Citizenship Unit. The official process requires a Government-Authorised Agent to prepare and lodge the file.
Approval before investment
The standard process is to submit the application, undergo due diligence, receive approval in principle, and then complete the qualifying investment.
Family inclusion
The programme permits qualifying dependants to be included, subject to the current dependency definitions, due-diligence rules and additional fees.
No residence requirement
The official programme describes citizenship without a general pre-application residence requirement, which distinguishes this route from the 14-year citizenship-by-residence pathway.
