Taiwan investment resident visa in 2026
Taiwan has a residence basis for qualifying foreign investors that is distinct from the Entrepreneur Visa.
Investment threshold
BOCA's current resident-visa guidance states that the applicant needs proof of investment issued by the competent central-government authority and uses a minimum investment amount of US$200,000.
NIA residence guidance likewise refers to an investment approval and an investment amount of at least US$200,000, together with current company-registration materials.
What the threshold does — and does not — mean
The US$200,000 figure is a resident-visa/residence basis, not an automatic permanent-residence threshold and not a guarantee that company, tax, licensing or work-permit requirements are satisfied.
A separate, much higher investment-immigration framework exists for permanent residence.
