Short-Term Residence for Business Connections in Türkiye in 2026

The Presidency of Migration Management lists establishing business or commercial connections as a qualifying purpose for short-term residence. This covers eligible preparation, meetings and business relationships; it is not a substitute for a work permit to operate a company or render paid services.

Purpose, documents and duration

For a stay of more than three months on this ground, the official residence guidance requests an invitation letter or comparable evidence from the people or companies to be contacted. A short-term residence permit is generally issued for no more than two years at a time, subject to its legal category and the official decision. The government's investor residence guide lists the application form, passport, photos, financial means, valid health insurance and appropriate company invitation/registration papers.

Where a founder needs a different status

A company registration, an invitation or short-term business residence is insufficient if the foreigner will actively run the business. The Labour Ministry requires the suitable work permit before a foreign workplace operator works. Compare the company-owner permit, independent professional permit and screened Tech Visa instead of relying on residence alone.

Use the official e-İkamet procedure and confirm the live provincial checklist, rather than treating a visa visit as permanent residence.
