Viet Nam electronic visa (EV) in 2026
The EV electronic visa is Viet Nam's online entry-visa category. The Immigration Department's current portal says it can be valid for up to 90 days, with either single or multiple entries.
Who applies and where
The official portal is designed for qualifying foreign nationals who are outside Viet Nam and hold a valid passport or international travel document. Applicants must not fall within the statutory entry-suspension cases. The portal currently states a non-refundable application fee of USD 25 for single entry and USD 50 for multiple entry.
What EV does — and does not — authorize
An e-Visa is permission to travel to and seek entry for the declared purpose. It is not a work permit, temporary residence card, permanent residence grant, or digital-nomad residence permit. Viet Nam's immigration rules require foreigners to conduct activities consistently with their purpose of entry.

Border-gate restriction
EV holders must enter and exit through border gates designated by the Government and listed by the Immigration Department. Always use the live official list when planning travel because operational ports can change.
After entry
The Immigration Department notes that an EV holder in Viet Nam may be considered for a new visa when invited or guaranteed by an eligible authority, organization or individual under the law. That is a separate application; an EV does not automatically convert into residence or work authorization.
