Investor Permanent Residence in China — January 2025 snapshot
China's National Immigration Administration recognizes an investor category for permanent residence, but it is not an instant "golden visa" and the current national guideline does not present it as citizenship by investment.
Core January 2025 eligibility
The NIA permanent-residence guideline states that an applicant may qualify where the person has made direct and stable investments in China for three consecutive years and has a good tax-payment record.
The application materials listed for investor cases include enterprise registration and annual-report records, investment-project confirmation and capital-verification evidence, plus tax documentation where required.
No invented universal price tag
ReloTide does not state a single nationwide investment amount because the Tier-1 national guideline reviewed for this snapshot expresses the eligibility test through direct/stable investment, duration, tax compliance and supporting project documentation rather than one universal published threshold.
Permanent residence is separate from ordinary business entry
An M Business Visa is for commercial and trade activity and is not permanent residence. A founder or investor who also works in China may need the separate work authorization pathway.
