Grenada permanent residence by investment

Grenada's Citizenship by Investment Act is broader than its name suggests: the official Investment Migration Agency states that the programme enables qualifying persons to acquire permanent residence or citizenship by registration following investment in Grenada.

Qualifying investment structure

The official legal framework identifies investment through the National Transformation Fund or an approved project. Applicants must work through appropriately licensed agents rather than submitting directly to the Government.

The agency's current programme material says an NTF applicant may apply directly for citizenship or first obtain permanent residence and later apply for citizenship.

Residence is not citizenship

Permanent residence by investment does not itself equal citizenship. Applicants who want citizenship immediately should compare the Citizenship by Investment route, which has its own contribution/investment amounts, due diligence and final registration process.

Business and work activity

Investment or permanent residence should not be assumed to grant unrestricted permission to personally work in a Grenadian business. If the investor will perform work, manage operations or provide services in Grenada, the work-permit framework should be checked separately.
