EU/OECD Property Owner Temporary Residence in North Macedonia

North Macedonia's MFA identifies a narrow property-based temporary-residence ground. It is not a general golden visa or citizenship-by-investment program.

Who the official rule covers

The MFA states that temporary residence may be granted to a foreign resident of an EU or OECD Member State who has acquired the right to own an apartment, apartment building or house in North Macedonia under the conditions laid down by law, with a value of at least EUR 40,000.

Important limits

The wording is narrower than a generic "buy property, get residence" offer: it ties eligibility to residence in an EU/OECD member state and qualifying residential property. It does not establish citizenship, permanent residence, local work authorization or a passive-investor visa for every foreign buyer.

Entrepreneurs working in their own North Macedonian company should examine self-employment/company-owner residence instead.
