Norway seasonal-worker residence permit in 2026
A seasonal-worker permit is for work that can only be carried out at a particular time of year, or for work as a holiday replacement for a permanent employee. It is not a general low-skilled work visa.
The applicant must have a concrete full-time job offer. Pay and working conditions must not be poorer than normal in Norway, and a minimum hourly wage must be guaranteed.
The employer generally needs confirmation from NAV that enough workers cannot be recruited from Norway or the EEA. Agriculture and forestry are exceptions to that NAV-confirmation requirement.
A person can normally work as a seasonal worker for no more than six months in any twelve-month period. Someone who has used six months must spend six months outside Norway before obtaining another seasonal permit.
Seasonal residence does not count toward permanent residence, and family members are not normally entitled to family immigration on the basis of this permit.
