Economic Solvency Residence in Panama in 2026

The Solvencia Económica Propia category is different from the Qualified Investor permanent-residence programme and from nationality-restricted Friendly Nations residence. Panama Digital's official SNM procedure describes at least B/.300,000 in foreign-funded investment, through real estate, a fixed-term bank deposit, or a qualifying combination of the two.

Funds and family evidence

Prepare category-specific investment, title or bank evidence, plus documents confirming the foreign origin of the funds. Government guidance requires B/.2,000 of additional solvency per dependant. Property ownership and fixed deposits use different evidence: do not apply a property checklist to a deposit-only applicant. Foreign-issued documents may need apostille or other legalization and authorized Spanish translation.

Residence versus permission to work

The economic-residence framework ordinarily involves a provisional residence period before eligibility for the permanent stage, subject to the specific category's requirements and exceptions. MITRADEL separately lists a labor-authorization category for holders of qualifying economic-solvency status. Buying a home does not itself authorize employment or regulated professional services.

Compare similar investment numbers

The B/.300,000 threshold in this category is not interchangeable with the September 2026 Qualified Investor first-sale property threshold, which is governed by a different decree. Nor is this category automatically available on the terms of Friendly Nations residence.
