The Critical Skills Work Visa is South Africa's skilled-employment route for qualifying occupations within the current critical-skills framework.
Points-based adjudication
Under the gazetted system, the applicant must reach 100 points and satisfy all other prescribed requirements. Where the threshold is reached through an occupation on the applicable Critical Skills List, the applicant may be issued a Critical Skills Work Visa.

The points system did not erase the Critical Skills category. Applicants should verify that their occupation and supporting professional evidence match the current official list and registration rules where applicable.
Avoid approval assumptions
No source-based approval probability should be inferred from reaching 100 points. Police clearance, medical and other prescribed requirements still apply, and the Department remains the decision-maker.
