Colombo Port City Visas in Sri Lanka in 2026

Colombo Port City has a separate preferential visa framework for activity inside its special economic zone.

Four published categories

The official Port City framework lists:

  • Investor: published eligibility includes USD 100,000 for five years or USD 200,000 for ten years in Port City; the listed visa term is 10 years.
  • Business: directors, shareholders and partners of an Authorised Person; listed term five years.
  • Employment: employees of an Authorised Person; up to five years or the employment-contract term.
  • Resident: lessees of residential property in Port City; up to five years or the lease term.

The framework also describes spouse and child visas, with work privileges requiring the relevant separate visa where specified.
