Sri Lanka maintains an Ex-Sri Lankan and dependants residence category for people who previously held Sri Lankan citizenship and qualifying family members.
Evidence
The Department lists original birth records or section 5(2) birth registration, citizenship certificates where citizenship was by registration, marriage and dependant birth certificates where applicable, and passports.
Duration
The official residence page states this category is generally valid for one year and can be renewed annually.
Former Sri Lankan status may also be relevant to the newer Permanent Residence Visa, but permanent residence is a separate legal status with its own documentary and eligibility rules.
