Cambodia QIP Investor Temporary Long-Term Stay in 2026
Cambodia's 2021 Law on Investment gives qualifying investors in registered investment projects specific immigration and labour-related rights.
Article 22 of the official Law on Investment provides the investor with the right to obtain a temporary long-term stay permit for the investor, spouse and minor children while the investment project operates.
The article also allows requests for temporary long-term stay for qualifying foreign employees and their spouse/minor children during the valid employment period.
Investment-status certification
The Council for the Development of Cambodia or the relevant municipal/provincial investment subcommittee can issue a letter certifying investment status. The law says that certification can be used for temporary long-term stay, work-permit/employment-book and other necessary formalities.
Not an automatic golden visa
This is not a blanket residence-by-investment product for anyone who deposits money or buys property. The right is connected to a qualifying investment project and the procedures applicable to that project.
ReloTide therefore does not market this as automatic permanent residence, citizenship by investment or a guaranteed "golden visa."
Foreign employees
Article 22 also lets qualifying investment projects hire foreign employees within applicable quota/rule limits where qualified Cambodian employees are not available. Labour authorization still has to be obtained.
See the foreign work permit guide.
Company registration versus QIP status
Incorporating a normal company does not automatically make it a Qualified Investment Project. QIP registration/investment approval is a separate process under the investment regime.
Read business registration and investor setup.
Land ownership
The Investment Law states that land ownership for investment projects is limited to Cambodian nationals under applicable law. Foreign investors can use lawful lease/concession structures where permitted. Business ownership and land ownership should not be conflated.
