EU Blue Card in Poland in 2026
Poland's EU Blue Card is the temporary residence route for qualifying highly skilled employment.
2026 salary threshold
Current Office for Foreigners guidance states that for applications submitted in 2026, annual gross remuneration must be at least PLN 160,264.08, which corresponds to monthly gross remuneration of more than PLN 13,355.34. The statutory formula is 150% of the previous year's average remuneration.
Salary is only one condition. The applicant must also meet the professional-qualification and employment requirements of the Blue Card route.
Validity and mobility
The Polish Blue Card is issued for the employment period plus 3 months, for a total period from more than 6 months up to 3 years.
Current rules also provide EU mobility rights. After 12 months of legal Blue Card residence, an eligible holder can use long-term mobility to another participating EU Member State. Current rules also protect a period of unemployment: generally 3 months when less than two years have elapsed since grant, and 6 months after two years, subject to notification duties.
Blue Card rules should not be mixed with the ordinary single work/residence permit.
