Remote Work and Digital Nomad Options in Poland in 2026

Poland does not currently publish a dedicated national digital-nomad residence permit.

Poland Business Harbour is not an open digital-nomad route

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs suspended its participation in the Poland. Business Harbour programme on 26 January 2024. It should not be presented as a current immigration pathway.

Remote work must fit a real legal basis

A third-country national who wants to live in Poland while working remotely needs a lawful immigration basis that matches the actual facts. Depending on the arrangement, that may involve:

  • a Polish employment/work-residence route when the person is employed in Poland;
  • a business-activity residence route when the person genuinely conducts qualifying business in Poland;
  • a family, study, long-term or other residence status that independently allows the stay and, where applicable, work;
  • specific posted-worker rules where a foreign employer posts the worker to Poland to perform qualifying duties.

A tourist or visitor basis should not be marketed as a substitute for a residence/work authorization.

The key distinction is that “remote work” is a way of performing activity, not a standalone Polish immigration category.
