Singapore Work Permit in 2026
The Work Permit is a sector-specific employer-sponsored pass for migrant workers. MOM currently uses it in construction, manufacturing, marine shipyard, process and services, subject to the source-country or region rules for each sector.
Key conditions
The employer or appointed employment agent applies. MOM's current key facts state that there is no general minimum qualifying salary for this pass, but employers remain subject to sector rules, quota, levy and other employment conditions.
New applicants must generally be at least 18 years old and below 62 years old when applying. A Work Permit can be issued for up to 2 years and may be renewable.
Employers must comply with the applicable foreign-worker quota and levy and provide required medical insurance.
Family
MOM states that family passes are not available to Work Permit holders.
The Work Permit is not interchangeable with the S Pass or Employment Pass.
