Third-Country Skilled Worker Residence Permit (B) in Liechtenstein — January 2025 snapshot
For nationals outside the EEA and Switzerland, Liechtenstein does not operate an open skilled-migration program. The official B-permit procedure limits employment residence to managers, specialists and other qualified employees, with vocational training or substantial professional experience expected.
Discretionary admission
Liechtenstein's National Administration states that there is generally no obligation to grant residence permits to third-country nationals. Employment residence is decided with national economic considerations in mind.
A complete B-permit application is therefore not equivalent to a points-based entitlement. The job should fit the official qualified-worker standard, and work may only proceed once the required immigration permission is in place.
Not a founder or investor route
This category is for non-self-employed work. Registering a company, buying shares, funding a startup or holding assets in Liechtenstein does not automatically convert this route into an entrepreneur or investor residence permit.
For shorter assignments, compare the L short-term permit, third-country commuter permit, and distributed-presence BIB.
