Business Immigrant Visa (C5) in Kazakhstan

The C5 Business Immigrant Visa is Kazakhstan's official entrepreneurship-oriented visa category for adults entering for entrepreneurial activity.

January 2025 snapshot

The MFA announced that documentation for C5 was significantly simplified from 18 November 2024. Official consular guidance describes a single-entry visa of up to 90 days and a multiple-entry visa of up to two years, with longer treatment for certain ethnic Kazakh applicants.

Startup founders

Tier-1 visa materials reviewed for the 2 January 2025 snapshot do not identify a separate general startup-founder visa. A founder carrying on entrepreneurial activity may need to assess C5. If the person is instead employed by an eligible Kazakhstan or Astana Hub entity, C3 employment may be the relevant route. Investment-based cases should examine A5 and A6.
