Digital Nomad IT Visa (B9-1) in Kazakhstan

The Digital Nomad Visa (B9-1) is a separate Kazakhstan route for IT specialists traveling to obtain permanent residence.

The official visa rules describe a single-entry electronic B9-1 visa valid for up to one year, with a multiple-entry paper visa available through the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the basis of the electronic visa. The key additional document is a petition from the authorized Kazakhstan body responsible for informatization or Astana Hub.

Do not confuse B9-1 with B12-1

The Neo Nomad Visa B12-1 is for foreign-source remote workers and does not authorize local Kazakhstan employment. B9-1 is an IT-specialist route connected to obtaining permanent residence.

This route also differs from the broader B9 in-demand-profession route.
