Employment Single Permit in Serbia

For ordinary Serbian employment, the central long-stay route is the single permit for temporary residence and work.

Official guidance lists employment under an employment contract or another contract exercising Labour Law rights as a qualifying employment ground. Where a visa D is required, the employment-purpose visa D can cover residence and work for up to 180 days; longer stays use the single permit. The portal states that a single permit can be issued for up to 36 months.

For ordinary employment-contract cases, the employer must initiate the labour-market test before the application is completed. The single-permit application is submitted electronically through the Foreign Nationals Portal.

This page does not treat every highly skilled person as having a separate "skilled worker visa". Serbia separately recognizes Talent and Highly Qualified Foreign Citizen residence bases, while ordinary employer-sponsored work sits in the single-permit framework.
